Accounts Payable Accountant - 3 month contract

The Accounts Payable Accountant is a key part of the accounting team to assist with daily accounts payable duties in addition to being part of process improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Processing vendor invoices received daily and communicating directly with vendors
• Performing three-way match of purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices received
• Preparing credit card reconciliations
• Suggesting vendor payments to include in weekly payment batches
• Expense report processing and coding, including preparing expense reports for executives
• Building and maintaining good relationships with internal department managers and external vendors
• Assisting with interim and year-end audits by gathering requested invoices and documents
• File management and organization
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Manager, Accounting.

Requirements:

• Excellent computer skills – good knowledge of MS Office and Excel (Power Query, Power Pivots, advanced formulas preferred but not required).
• Ability to think critically and logically.
• Attention to detail and commitment with a high degree of accuracy, including consistent, timely and objective output.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Xero and Procurify is an asset.
• Ability to prioritize, manage tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to travel depending on needs (ex. weekly or bi-weekly basis) to our Delta Greenhouse or Downtown office (dependant on location)
