Job Description:

Accounting Specialist

Hours of work for this position range between 12pm EST - 10:30pm EST

Justification
  • Responsible for retrieving key information once the stock market has closed for International Wealth & Individual Life (Independence Life) business lines
  • Analysis of data will be required
  • Assisting in daily and month end account reconciliations, completing reconciliations and providing detail in support of audits and research on outstanding account balances
  • Processing and QC is required for the role

Job Description
  • Responsible for retrieving key information once the stock market has closed for International Wealth & Individual Life (Independence Life) business lines
  • Oversee the Nightly Pricing Process and perform NAV overrides to the system where necessary
  • Work with key stakeholders and nightly batch processing partners
  • Reconciliation of general ledger accounting for IFM
  • Daily out of balance reporting for IFM
  • Month End reconciliation
  • Independently prepares reports and analyze data
  • Maintain procedure documentation
  • Provide follow up on requests that cannot be immediately resolved
  • Processes ad hoc requests in a timely and accurate manner
  • Research & resolution of outstanding variances, general ledger and control accounting
  • Collaborating with internal partners to resolve outstanding variances in a timely manner
  • Collaborating with International Fund Managers & Transfer Agencies
  • Projects - working with QA, Prod Support, BSA’s, system/fund projects & enhancements
  • Audit & Due Diligence, SOX SEC adherence, UAT Testing
  • Month End Quarter End and Year End reporting and analysis
  • Assisting in daily and month end account reconciliations, completing reconciliations and providing detail in support of audits and research on outstanding account balances
  • Processing and QC is required for the role
  • Overtime maybe required due to late publication of NAV’s

Education/Experience
  • 2-3 years of industry experience (banking, accounting or insurance)
  • Finance background preferred
  • 3rd Level Qualification preferred (Accounting, Business/Finance)
