Robert Half has a vacancy for an Accounting Specialist- Accounts Receivable at an evolving Hi Tech Engineering company. This position is FULLY REMOTE. Taking on this role, you will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain a cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. This rapidly growing team needs a self-starter to join the accounting team! You will be processing full-cycle AP, handling a high volume of invoices per week, with high attention to detail. As the permanent Accounting Specialist- Accounts Receivable, you will work in the Kitchener, Ontario region, but utilize a FULLY REMOTE day to day environment.

Your responsibilities in this role

• Perform contract administration by setting up customer contracts and billings milestones
• Work closely with Project Management Office (PMO) and Got To Market Teams to link the technical stage of contracts with the commercial stages of contracts to release invoicing milestones to customers using customer portals and other electronic means
• Contact Customers to follow-up with timely payment of invoices
• Document collection activities and prepare weekly status and follow-up reports to engage the organization to resolve technical or commercial issues to facilitate payments
• Reconcile Accounts Receivable and Customer Deposits with the General Ledger Accounts monthly
• Prepare analytical reviews
• Assist Controller with preparation and coordination of audit process
• Contribute to company digitization initiatives
• Identify opportunities for improvement within the AR process and business
• Provide backup support for Accounts Payable personnel
  

Requirements

• Analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
• Excellent attention to detail
• Knowledgeable of ERP systems
• 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
• Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
• Command of construction project accounting
• AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field
