Robert Half has a rewarding position open for an entry-level Accountant. In this role, you will enter data, review financial statements, and create and manipulate Excel spreadsheets. You will report to the Accounting Manager, be a vital member of a dynamic team, and have the potential for career growth. If you have an aptitude for Excel, a positive attitude, and a desire to work in an entry-level accounting position, then this position could be the perfect fit. This short-term contract / temporary entry-level Accountant position is located in Kingston, Ontario.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries
• Perform data entry
• Aiding in full cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
• Carrying out alternate duties and taking part in special projects as assigned
• Investigating and correcting account discrepancies
• Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts
• Helping with audit fieldwork for both operational and financial audits
  
  

Requirements

• An AA or BS/BA Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business suggested
• 1 year of relevant accounting experience necessary
• Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well
• Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, vlookups) is preferred
• Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
• Bank reconciliations experience
• Sage Accounting Software experience
• Strong familiarity with journal entries
• Demonstrated knowledge of general ledger
• Adeptness in data entry
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
• Eagerness to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
