Business Need/Purpose of Role:

The account manager will be responsible to develop and manage sales activities within a specific geographic sales territory for the purpose of achieving sales growth targets, building strong customer relationships, and establishing ESCO as a “Value Added” leader in the marketplace. This individual will call on assigned accounts as well as search out greenfield business to sell and service all products in the ESCO pipeline of products through regularly scheduled on site visits.

Objectives & Measurement – Key Responsibilities:
  • Must be able to attain or surpass annual sales forecast and develop new accounts on assigned product package
  • Provide ongoing, profitable sales growth consistent with current forecasts by establishing and maintaining external customer relationships as assigned via the Account Manager call load
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the application and operation of ESCO products as assigned while consistently representing ESCO objectives and policies
  • Participate with sales management in developing strategies to penetrate assigned accounts, initiating new business and growing existing business through team selling efforts. Responsible to work with product optimization/ development, order acquisition, order fulfillment, distribution processes and service groups to define, develop, and implement product improvements, new products and market/sales campaigns and strategies
  • Consult, supervises and/or provides service to repair or maintain ESCO products. May be required to directly hire and directly supervise vendors and contractors
  • Travel in the assigned region to provide quick response and satisfactory solutions to immediate customer problems and product installations
  • Provide customer support with a high level of professionalism
  • Participate in the long-term resolution of product problems within ESCO’s product optimization process. Provide product performance feedback and assists in the analysis and delivery of the solution that brings the product to target. Involved in all activities associated with tracking and analysis of performance and provides consultation on warranty, policies and returns
  • Provide product and product support education for customers
  • Participate in sales planning process for the area and customers
  • Regular/frequent use of mining equipment database to document all customers, equipment, attachments & GET
  • Participates as lead with sales management in developing strategies within assigned territory, initiating new business and growing existing business through team selling efforts
  • Is an active team member with marketing, engineering, product, and service groups to define, develop, and implement product improvements, new products, and market/sales campaigns and strategies

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or other related field preferred, or 5+ years industry related sales experience in lieu of degree
  • Prefer experience in sales or manufacturing related to mining
  • Must be able to effectively create sketches of products in the field
  • Must have a clean insurable driving record
  • Must be able to travel 80% by company vehicle and on occasion for overnight.
  • Strong computer skills required.  Must be able to utilize an ERP system and Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to create and foster excellent customer rapport and relationships
  • May need to obtain forklift and crane operation certifications
  • Must be bilingual and fluent in English and French
  • Knowledge of the Mining/Mineral market highly preferred
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship and reside in the territory or be willing to relocate there.
