ENGINEER IN TRAINING ___________________________________________________________________________________________

Location: Red Deer, Alberta

Latitude Engineering is a growing engineering firm that specializes in Civil Engineering, Municipal Consulting and Project Management Services. We are looking for individuals who want a wide range of experiences and brings a winning mindset.

This position is an in office/field position and will require a local presence. To start you will be working with a small team as we push to grow our services offered in the Central Alberta market. The successful candidate will report directly to the General Manager.

Responsibilities

• Assist project managers and engineers with civil design drawing packages utilizing AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Develop work packages for a variety of civil engineering work such as land development, site servicing plans, roadway design, deep utility design, and stormwater management plans
• Preparation of stripping and grading plans, deep and shallow utility layouts, cut/fill plans, roadways, plan/profile/elevation drawings of roadways and utilities, area and volume calculations using surfaces, and etc
• Survey layout of designs for construction and onsite review of works under construction, including identification and survey of as-built construction items
• Prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates and schedules of quantities
• Assist on improving company standards
• Write proposals and participate in studies and reporting
• Attend meetings and prepare meeting records
• Project coordination and reporting
• Other duties as may be required with working in a professional engineering office

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Civil Engineering Degree program accredited by The Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)
• You must be a registered E.I.T. with APEGA
• A minimum of 4 years AutoCAD/Civil 3D experience in civil, municipal, and/or transportation engineering related design/construction.
• Working knowledge of engineering office software such as AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel and Bluebeam
• An exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work independently with accuracy and completeness in working with data, completing calculations and preparing design drawings.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.50-$40.17 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 50 per week
