#2223-578 1.0 FTE Fine Arts Prep Teacher - Temporary Contract

This is a temporary contract position.

This position is effective as soon as possible and will continue until June 30, 2023 or upon the return of the incumbent, whichever comes first.

While all applicants will be considered, preference will be given to qualified applicants who self-declare Indigenous ancestry.

Primary/Intermediate Fine Arts Teacher

• excellent classroom management skills
• knowledge of current instruction practices and curriculum
• training and experience in primary and intermediate education
• successful experience teaching at the primary and intermediate levels
• specific training and coursework in the areas of Fine Arts or Music
• ability to differentiate instruction based on student needs
• strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
• recognized degree in elementary education
• understanding and appreciation of the importance of First Nations Language & Culture
• knowledge of current instructional practices and the ability to adapt curriculum, programs and instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
• demonstrated ability to support students, consult with parents and work collaboratively
• ability to integrate use of technology to support instruction, web-based reporting and communicating with the school community
• interest in contributing to the professional community at the school
• BC Teaching Certificate, membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch and eligibility for a Teacher Qualification Service card
• sound knowledge of technologies and their educational application
